Innovation in UV – Hybrid Flexibility to Accessible Roll-to-Roll Production

A key focus of Mimaki’s presence at the show is the continued expansion of UV printing into new application areas. Showcased for the first time at an international show, the recently launched UJ330H-160 hybrid UV printer will be featured on the booth’s Hybrid Innovation Experience, demonstrating how one technology platform can support both roll-to-roll and rigid applications. Designed to help customers increase production versatility, without adding unnecessary complexity, the UJ330H-160 enables print businesses to explore applications and move seamlessly between signage, interior décor, display graphics, packaging and point-of-sale.

Early customer feedback on the UJ330H-160 is already highlighting the value of combining roll and rigid production in one system, particularly for businesses looking to reduce outsourcing, optimise production space and expand into new application areas.

For Infront Nordic, a Swedish print service provider and the first UJ330H-160 customer in Sweden, supported by Mimaki dealer Color Systems, output quality and reliability were key factors in the company’s investment decision. According to Johan Husak and Robin Jernström, Owners, Infront Nordic: “The print quality convinced us immediately. The 4pl output and the new UV inks deliver excellent results on rigid boards, with consistency we can rely on.” For print businesses evaluating hybrid technology, the system is also helping to change perceptions. “I used to see hybrid machines as a compromise, but the UJ330H-160 proved me wrong. Another highlight is the UJV200 Series making its international tradeshow debut at FESPA. Tijdens de beurs presenteert Mimaki zijn klantgedreven innovatiestrategie via een toepassingsgericht standconcept (hal 3, stand D95), opgebouwd rond verschillende ‘Experience Areas’ voor hybride UV-printing, sign graphics, textiel, personalisatie en productie op hoge volumes. Innovatie in UV-printing: hybride flexibiliteit en toegankelijke roll-to-roll-productie

Een belangrijk speerpunt van Mimaki op de beurs is de verdere uitbreiding van UV-printing naar nieuwe toepassingsgebieden. De onlangs gelanceerde UJ330H-160 hybride UV-printer wordt voor het eerst op een internationale vakbeurs gepresenteerd. Binnen de ‘Hybrid Innovation Experience’ demonstreert Mimaki hoe één technologieplatform zowel roll-to-roll- als rigide toepassingen ondersteunt. De UJ330H-160 is ontwikkeld om printbedrijven meer productieflexibiliteit te bieden zonder dat workflows ingewikkelder worden. De printer maakt het mogelijk eenvoudig te schakelen tussen toepassingen voor signage, interieurdecoratie, display graphics, verpakkingen en point-of-sale.

Vroege reacties op de UJ330H-160 laten zien dat vooral de combinatie van rol- en rigide productie aanspreekt. Bedrijven kunnen daardoor minder uitbesteden, efficiënter omgaan met productieruimte en eenvoudiger nieuwe toepassingen toevoegen..

Voor Infront Nordic, een Zweedse printserviceprovider en de eerste klant van de UJ330H-160 in Zweden, ondersteund door Mimaki-dealer Color Systems, waren de afdrukkwaliteit en betrouwbaarheid doorslaggevend bij de investeringsbeslissing. Volgens Johan Husak en Robin Jernström, eigenaren van Infront Nordic: “De printkwaliteit overtuigde ons meteen. De 4pl-uitvoer en de nieuwe UV-inkten leveren uitstekende resultaten op rigide platen, met een consistente kwaliteit waarop we kunnen vertrouwen.”

Het systeem verandert bovendien de manier waarop printbedrijven naar hybride printen kijken. “Ik zag hybride machines vroeger als een compromis, maar de UJ330H-160 heeft het tegendeel bewezen. De afdrukkwaliteit was scherp en nauwkeurig op zowel rolmedia als flexibele en rigide materialen. Mimaki heeft hybride printen overtuigend aangepakt”, aldus Volkan Başkozan, eigenaar van de Turkse printspecialist DB Reklam.

Deze positieve reacties zijn eveneens te horen binnen het distributienetwerk van Mimaki. Na de introductie-evenementen van de nieuwe hybride printer verklaarde het team van IGEPA Belux, Mimaki-reseller in België: “De lancering van de UJ330H zorgde meteen voor enthousiasme. De afdrukkwaliteit, de witte inkt, de vernis en de 2,5D-effecten sprongen meteen in het oog, terwijl demonstraties de prestaties, flexibiliteit en het gebruiksgemak van de machine bevestigden.”

Een ander hoogtepunt is de  UJV200-serie die zijn internationale beursdebuut maakt op FESPA. De UJV200-serie is ontwikkeld om hoogwaardige UV-roll-to-roll-printing toegankelijker te maken en ondersteunt een breed scala aan sign- en grafische toepassingen. Daarbij combineert de serie de beeldkwaliteit van Mimaki met de creatieve mogelijkheden van UV-printing, waaronder effecten met witte en transparante inkt.

Op FESPA 2026 wordt deze ontwikkeling zichtbaar in een nieuw DTF-conceptmodel, gebaseerd op het 330-platform van Mimaki. Het model wordt op de stand gedemonstreerd en biedt een vooruitblik op Mimaki’s visie voor de volgende generatie DTF-productie.

Présentée pour la première fois à un salon international, la nouvelle imprimante UV hybride UJ330H-160 sera exposée dans la zone du stand dédiée à l’innovation hybride, afin de démontrer comment une plateforme technologique peut prendre en charge à la fois les applications roll-to-roll et les supports rigides. Las primeras opiniones de los clientes sobre la UJ330H-160 ya destacan el valor de combinar la producción roll-to-roll y rígida en un único sistema, especialmente para empresas que buscan reducir la subcontratación, optimizar el espacio de producción y ampliar sus áreas de aplicación.

Para Infront Nordic, proveedor sueco de servicios de impresión y primer cliente de la UJ330H-160 en Suecia, con el respaldo de Color Systems, distribuidor de Mimaki, la calidad de impresión y la fiabilidad fueron factores clave en la decisión de inversión de la empresa. Según Johan Husak y Robin Jernström, propietarios de Infront Nordic: «La calidad de impresión nos convenció de inmediato. El tamaño de gota de 4 pl y las nuevas tintas UV ofrecen resultados excelentes sobre soportes rígidos, con una consistencia en la que podemos confiar». El sistema también está contribuyendo a cambiar la percepción de las empresas de impresión sobre la tecnología híbrida. «Antes veía las máquinas híbridas como una solución de compromiso, pero la UJ330H-160 me demostró lo contrario. La calidad de impresión fue excelente tanto en soportes en bobina como en materiales flexibles y rígidos. Mimaki ha conseguido llevar la impresión híbrida al siguiente nivel», afirma Volkan Başkozan, propietario de la empresa turca de impresión DB Reklam.

Esta positiva acogida también se ha reflejado en la red de distribuidores de Mimaki. Tras los eventos de lanzamiento de la nueva impresora híbrida, el equipo de IGEPA Belux, distribuidor de Mimaki en Bélgica, afirmó: «El lanzamiento de la UJ330H generó entusiasmo de inmediato. La calidad de impresión, así como el blanco, el barniz y los efectos 2.5D, destacaron claramente, mientras que las demostraciones confirmaron el rendimiento, la flexibilidad y la facilidad de uso del equipo».

Otra de las novedades destacadas será la serie UJV200, que hará su debut internacional en una feria en FESPA. Esta serie UJV200, desarrollada para hacer más accesible la impresión UV roll-to-roll de alta calidad, es compatible con una amplia variedad de aplicaciones de señalización y gráfica publicitaria, combinando la calidad de imagen de Mimaki con las posibilidades creativas de la impresión UV, incluidos los efectos con tinta blanca y transparente.

En FESPA 2026, esta evolución se reflejará en un nuevo modelo conceptual DTF, basado en la plataforma 330 de la empresa, que se presentará en el stand como adelanto de la dirección que seguirá Mimaki para la próxima generación de producción DTF.
